"Bluebeard" movie director Lee Soo-Yeon has revealed what inspired her to make her psychological thriller film. It is somewhat based on reality.

The movie will focus on the story of a man who was forced to confront the secrets under the Han River when it melted and he found a body. Even more interesting is when the body came to life.

Cho Jin-Woong portrays Seung Hoon, the main character of the "Bluebeard" movie. He is a doctor who opens his own clinic in Gangnam, Seoul but it failed so he finds a job as a contract doctor at a hospital on the outskirts of the city.

During his job as a contract doctor, an old man visits him for an endoscopic exam. While the old man was sedated, he talks about gruesome images - which reminded Seung-hoon of news about a headless female corpse found in the Han River.

The patient continues to talk and says that "arms and legs are under the Hannam Bridge and the body is under the Dongho Bridge." In an eerie twist, the old man is actually the father of Seung-hoon's landlord. The doctor gets terrified and begins to suspect the old man and his son.

"Bluebeard" movie director Lee Soo-Yeon said that the idea about the psychological thriller film's plot was taken from the fact that, every spring, dead bodies disposed of in the Han River float to the surface.

Another inspiration was when she watched a video about why people should not receive sleep endoscopy. The video featured an unconscious patient who said and did odd things; things that he normally would not do if he was awake.

Actor Cho Jin-Woong noted that the "Bluebeard" movie character he played is different from what he was used to. He also admitted that he was satisfied with his performance in the film, saying that he was able to portray the character as a loser, which was how he intended it to be.
