The AMD Ryzen hype is still on and will most likely continue for months. One of the reasons for this is that enthusiasts are finally given another option for their high-end PC build. This shook the CPU market and possibly evened out the playing field between rivals Intel and AMD. The recently released Ryzen 7 CPUs includes the Ryzen 7 1700, Ryzen 7 1700X, and Ryzen 7 1800X processors. These new Ryzen CPUs all come with 8 cores, 16 threads.

The fastest of the Ryzen 7 series, Ryzen 7 1800X, performs with a base clock of 3.6GHz and a boost clock of 4GHz. This chip has a 95W TDP. Cinebench R15 multi-threading benchmark test reveals that the Ryzen 7 1800X, with a score of 1601, performs 4% more than Intel's Core i7-6900K's score of 1474.

The Ryzen 7 1700 and Ryzen 7 1700X processors are also faster and cheaper than their Intel counterparts. Ryzen 7 1700X performs with a base clock of 3.4GHz and a boost clock of 3.8GHz.

However, mid-range CPUs from the Ryzen 5 series are bound to be released sometime within the second quarter of 2017. This also keeps the Ryzen hype on for mid-end CPU consumers. The confirmed Q2 release from the Ryzen 5 series is composed of the Ryzen 5 1500X, and Ryzen 5 1600X CPUs. These yet to be released CPUs are expected to battle with Intel's i5 7000 series such as Intel Core i5-7500, i5-7600, among others.

The Ryzen 5 CPUs will be a cheaper choice for mid-ranged consumers and perform better than its Intel counterpart. This is where Intel will start to feel the loss in the CPU market share. Rumors reported that the 6-core 12-threaded Ryzen 5 1600X will have a base clock of 3.3GHz and a boost clock of 3.7GHz. But these rumors were corrected as AMD confirmed that the Ryzen 5 1600X will perform even faster than what the rumors initially speculated. The Ryzen 5 1600X will have a base clock of 3.6GHz and a boost clock of 4GHz.
