Korea has been struggling with series of unfortunate events like the recent impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye. However some experts believe that these events will not affect the economy as well as the foreign investments in the country.

According to some big investors, some of Korea's military provocations and the impeachment are not really problems to their investments in Korea. Since then, North Korea has been known as a factor and it does not affect the view of Korea as well as their investment plans and decision.

And for the impeachment of Park Geun-hye, it has already been settled and there is no issue with that anymore. The investors also added that the decision of the court has removed all uncertainties that came along with it. Even if there are still issues and noise after the verdict, the investors expect that the case and the situation will calm down in the future.

Further, they even shared that political scandal is normal as most countries also suffer the same. The only difference according to them is the level of degree as mentioned on Korea Times.

These opinions by the investors were echoed during the 2017 Korea Business Forum hosted and organized by KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held in Singapore last March 14 to 15. This gathering was actually part of the Korean government's investor relations activities.

Apart from the sharing of views, the forum was also conducted to introduce free economic zones in Korea most especially in provincial areas. This in the future will offer startups and potential merger and acquisition to global investors.

One thing more, the Korean government is currently focusing on highlighting the major fundamentals and foundations of the country's economy, attractiveness of the country as an investment decision and the consistent policies for foreign investors.

Despite the uncertainties in Korea, still many investors have shown strong interest in the Korean companies and market. With this, the government also plans to have a meeting with global real estate developers aside from the other investors who are interested in Korean businesses in Hong Kong.
