BigBang Korean boy band and labelmate CL of YG Entertainment's 2NE1 are included in TIME magazine's online reader poll for the 2016 100 Most Influential people, the magazine said Thursday. They turned out to be the only South Koreans in the pool of 127 candidates.

The U.S.-based magazine's annual list of the world's 100 most influential people spans politics, religion, business, science, entertainment, technology and other fields. As per TIME, the list has world leaders, as well as great minds in technology and science; outstanding figures in arts and other icons. TIME editors choose the annual official list depending on the results of online polls.

BigBang Korean boy band rose to candidacy as they had a series of successful world tours in the past. "With One Direction on hiatus, this South Korean group has been hailed as 'the biggest boy band in the world,' even booking arenas in the U.S. without a Hot 100 hit thanks to their fervent fan base," said TIME.

As for CL, the 2NE1 leader has made it to the TIME 100 list for the second straight year, seven years after her debut as part of the female hip hop quartet. According to TIME, "the singer has graduated from one-fourth of hit South Korean girl group 2NE1 to front-row presence at fashion shows and solo artist in her own right thanks to songs like 'Doctor Pepper' and 'Hello Bitches.'"

With CL and BigBang Korean boy band in the list are U.S. President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, France President Francois Hollande, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, China President Xi Jinping, Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as music artists Lady Gaga, Adele, Kanye West, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.

Yonhap News said voting will close on April 10, 11:59 p.m. EST. The winner will be announced on April 14 while the official list of TIME 100 will be out on April 21.
