Cable TV Association Names South Korean Actor Park Hae Jin Best Actor While 'Reply 1988' Wins Best Drama

The Korean Cable TV Association has named South Korean actor Park Hae Jin, 32, has been named best actor for his role in the TV series "Cheese in the Trap." He is the patient college senior Yoo Jung in the tvN show. The awards ceremony was held at COEX, Seoul on Friday, Yonhap News reported.

According to his Asianwiki profile, the 186-cm tall actor was born on May 1, 1983 and is best known in his roles in dramas "My Daughter Seo Young," My Love From the Star" and "Bad Guys."

South Korean actor Park Hae Jin has been interviewed by MBN in a Gangnam café, where he expressed his wish to go into marriage when he reached 35. "I'm turning 35 in 2017. That goal [to get married then] already seems impossible," the actor chuckled. "I've said in a lot of interviews that I want to get married at 35."

The actor does not close his mind to 35 though. He said he could marry anytime if the right one appears. However, marriage is not in his mind at this time. As to why he thinks of 35, an early age for an actor to get married, but actually a bit late for men, the actor shared he likes kids and wanted to get married immediately.

The interview was featured in a post on Soompi.  "Marriage is not something that I can do just because I want to do it. I didn't know that I would reach 35 so quickly," South Korean actor Park Hae Jin said laughing.

Also in the cable TV awards to win the best drama "for rewriting cable TV history," is one that tells about a girl in South Korea during the 1980s, "Reply 1988." The drama on tvN concluded on Jan. 16 with 21.6 percent viewership, which is unusually high for a cable drama.

Cable music show producers voted TWICE and INFINITE K-pop groups as well as singer-rapper Jessi as best artists.

Actor Ryu Jun Yeol and actress Ryoo Hye Yeong won Rising Star awards, both from "Reply 1988." Also getting the award was comedian Lee Jin Ho of "Actor School" reality show on tvN, who received acting lessons, courtesy of actor Park Shin Yang.
