South Korean tech giant Samsung is redeeming itself from the issues that the Galaxy Note 7 faced last year. One of the biggest devices that could help in the process of building Samsung's reputation is the Galaxy S8, set to be unleashed this year.

Galaxy S8 Coming April 2017

Sources recently spoke with The Guardian, revealing that the highly anticipated phone will be announced on March. The release of the Galaxy S8 will follow in a couple of weeks after its unveiling: on or around April 21. Samsung has yet to officially address the report.

The insiders also dropped big news about the Galaxy S8. There will reportedly be two sizes. The two variants will have an "almost bezel-less" infinity display. The devices are also said to feature an iris scanner.

Other Specs as Revealed by Insiders

The Samsung Galaxy S8 variants will reportedly come with larger displays. One is codenamed Dream while the other is Dream 2. Two sources explained that the two Dream variants will sport curving down screens - a feature similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Multiple insiders went on to disclose that the Korean manufacturer has decided to move the fingerprint scanner to the back part. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly be powered with the same iris scanning biometric feature that was seen in the Note 7. This means that consumers will be able to unlock their devices by placing their eyes in front of the scanner.

Dream and Dream are both said to provide fans with 64GB of storage. The option to expand is also available. Users can input a microSD card that has up to 256GB in capacity. Troubled chipmaker Qualcomm is said to be working on the Galaxy S8 phones' chipsets.

Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is reportedly coming with new accessories including a new dock. The S8 is also allegedly looking to become an Android desktop computer though the details on this purported feature are scarce as of now.

GSM Arena adds that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have an interesting accessory called the DeX. It appears that this is the same desktop computer accessory that sources revealed to Guardian. The South Korean company has yet to deny or confirm the reports.
