Samsung next flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S8, wont be released next month at the Mobile World Congress tech show. But despite that, Samsung not back down without a fight with a potential unveiling of the Samsung Tab S3.

The tech company has announced that it will be hosting an event at the conference sending press invites for Sunday February 26, 2017 in Barcelona. It is rumored that Samsung will unveil the Tab S3 according to a Korean source.

This would leave Samsung's other rivals like LG to create excitement for their next flagship, the LG G6. But by holding a conference, Samsung will have the chance to steal the show with the unveiling of something new.

The Tab S3 is the follow up the rather impressive Tab S2. Rumored specs for the upcoming device includes a 9.6 display with a 2048x1536 pixel resolution, 12 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera with 4gb of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.

The new table could be released in March for around $600. Samsung meanwhile did not respond for a comment.

Samsung is still reeling from the massive blunder in their Galaxy Note S7 recall due to its malfunctioning battery. The issue has certainly damaged Samsung's reputation. And it may have a contributing factor to Apple overtaking the company in the recent sales report.

The reveal of a new tablet may help regain their top spot but it is definitely not enough. Samsung will reportedly release the Galaxy S8 on April and it may be their only chance for them to bring back their customers. They have to regain their customer's trust in the smartphone department after the battery issue with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 which is easier said than done.

For now, Samsung should bide their time and carefully plan their next moves. They can't afford another fiasco with their next smartphones because otherwise, they might never be the top selling smartphone company again.
