For avid gamers, it's clear that Pokemon Go owned 2016. The craze for the mobile app reached nearly every part of the world and everyone just "gotta catch them all." Coming in 2017, while many feels that that hype for the Niantic game has already died down, it seems like the gaming company is just cooking up something big to feed the fan frenzy.

According to Mic.com, those who are tightly hanging on to their Pokemon Go are in for a treat this year with a the release of Generation 2 of Pokemon. A new roster of our favorite characters is set to make an appearance. Cyndaquil and finally, the Poketrade, were already hinted to make it to the next version. But, what everyone has been waiting for is the appearance of Mewtwo. Designer, Albert Choi, came up with an idea on how the fan-favorite is going to make an explosive show. However, it remains to be a secret.

So, what else is new in the Pokemon Go Gen 2? A new footprint identifier will be added the items. This will allow players to easily find the nearby Pokemon, as it gives them the approximate distance and direction. There will also be "key items" that are especially designed for special events and "Care" items. "Care items" seem to be inspired by the 'Pokemon Sun and Moon' available only on Nintendo 3DS XL consoles.

That's not all, however, there will also be a special item to catch Legendary Pokemons. In Chi's very own concept, gamers will be allowed 10 minutes to catch the Legendary Pokemon before it runs or disappears.

As for the trading, fans won't be disappointed as they're able to advertise at least 3 Pokemons in the Trade Block. They will be allowed to show what Pokemon they want, as well.

No release date has been set for the Pokemon Go Gen 2, but something tells us it's only a matter of time.
