When Apple announced the iPhone 7 will not include a headphone jack, critics and users criticized the tech giant while some threatened to boycott the new iPhone. But that didn't stop Apple from selling more iPhones in one quarter since its inception. And that certainly didn't stop the release of Apple's version of wireless airpods that they feel is the next evolutionary step for portable audio listening.

It wasn't soon until other audio companies created their own wireless headphones to compliment the iPhone 7. Apple's own Beats has announced that they too will be making their own wireless headphones, but has so far been delayed until now.

Apple has announced that the previously delayed Beats X earpods will be available on February 10. This will come a day after Apple's retail stores around the United States will receive the initial stock for the Beats X.

The Beats X will feature Apple's W1 chip for quick pairing with iOS devices and Macs. Beats X will be priced at $149.95 which is cheaper that Apple's Airpods. It was previously announced that the Beat X will come in black and white but Apple has now revealed that the new headphones will now come in gray and blue.

Despite being designed for Apple devices; Beats X earbuds are still fully compatible with non Apple devices like Andriod smartphones. Apple has said that the Beat X earpods' battery can last up to 8 hours and can get 2 hours of listening time in just 5 minutes of charging. The Beats X earpods charge by Lightning connector which is a departure from the micro USB plug that Beats usually uses in their other headphones.

Moreover, the cable for the Beats X earpods is dubbed the "Flex-Form" which is designed to make the earpods rest comfortably and tangle free around the users' neck. The earpods also attach magnetically to one another when not in use. Packaging includes a carrying case with removable wing tips. The Beats X however is not sweat-proof which makes it non-conducive for workouts or other strenuous activites.
