The Sony Xperia XZ was launched last September 2016 as the true successor to Sony's flahgship device. But now a report from GSM claims that new XZ phone may be on the primed for a reveal on the upcoming Mobile World Congress this February.

Based on the report, images were leaked from a source of what is supposedly the next Sony Xperia XZ. The images show the new smartphone in various angles, but because the pictures are blurry, the information based off the these may be untrue.

One of the shots show 4 smartphones arranged next to each other with the source claiming the the bottom right is the new Sony Xperia XZ. According to the report, the model on top of the Sony Xperia XZ is the older version of the smartphone.

Judging from the image. Its clear that the new Sony Xperia XZ is larger than its predecessor. But the size difference of the two phones can't be determined due to the confusing angle the image was taken. Reviews have praised the older version's screen display and having a bigger screen for the updated version will make it that much more prominent.

Other information coming from the leaked images says that the new Sony Xperia XZ will have 4GB or RAM. It will be an improvement over its predecessor's 3GB RAM. The fingerprint sensor will still be placed on the side mounted power button.

As said earlier, the Sony Xperia XZ is still relatively a new phone so Sony releasing an updated version of their flagship would be unlikely. Samsung and Apple updates their flagship phones on a year by year basis. But the Mobile World Congress will be held soon and it would be wise for Sony to unveil something new. If the leaked images does indeed show a new Sony Xperia XZ, then it would likely be a bigger version of the flagship smartphone.
