LG has just unveiled the G6 at the Mobile World Congress, proving to everyone that it learns from its missteps and knows how to move forward with a bigger and better device.

The South Korean firm has opted to go a different route this year. Instead of pushing for out-of-this-world design and innovation, LG decided to use the classy looking G6 as a vehicle for showcasing their cutting-edge technology.

A worthy heir of the G5, the new handset has a huge display screen that's complemented by its new interface. It also comes with a large battery and a water-resistant case, making it one of the more exciting devices to come out of MWC 2017.

According to LG, the company's goal was to design a smartphone with a screen that's easy to navigate, despite its size. Their idea, to cut down on the bezels and increase the screen's height, is proving to be a winner. Despite its massive screen, the G6's width is surprisingly manageable and still displays a lot of content.

The G6 boasts a 1440 x 2880 screen resolution, a FullVision QHD+ screen and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is reportedly perfect for movies and split-screen apps. It's said to also be 30% more power efficient, has better touch performance and is easier to view even in full sunlight.

Aside from that, the handset boasts of a 13mp dual-lens camera. One lens has a 125-degree field of view while the selfie camera comes in with a 100-degree field of view.

The G6 is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and will run on the Android Nougat. It has 4GB of RAM and the battery is 3,300mAh. However, it can no longer be removed. It's a small concession to make considering LG has designed the G6 to be thinner and water resistant.

The LG G6 is expected to be released in South Korea on March 10 and the US by early April. It comes with a price tag of around $600.
