AMD's new line of processors, Ryzen, have been unveiled and will be available on the market this Mar. 2, 2017. Pre-orders are already available on as many as 185 retailers. Some of them began accepting pre-orders as early as Feb. 22, 2017.

AMD has revealed its first three Ryzen desktop CPUs from the Ryzen 7 series which includes the Ryzen 7 1700, Ryzen 7 1700X, and Ryzen 7 1800X processors. The chips are expected to perform much better and even cost lesser than its Intel counterparts.

The fastest of the Ryzen 7 series, Ryzen 7 1800X, performs with a base clock of 3.6GHz and a boost clock of 4GHz. This chip has a 95W TDP. Cinebench R15 multi-threading benchmark test reveals that the Ryzen 7 1800X, with a score of 1601, performs 4% more than Intel's Core i7-6900K's score of 1474.

However, both CPUs did get the same score on the single-threading benchmark test with a score of 162. The Ryzen 7 1800X clearly performs better and costs half the price of Intel's thousand-dollar Core i7-6900K CPU.

The Ryzen 7 1700 and Ryzen 7 1700X processors are also faster and cheaper than their Intel counterparts. Ryzen 7 1700X performs with a base clock of 3.4GHz and a boost clock of 3.8GHz.

This chip also has a 95W TDP. Cinebench R15 multi-threading benchmark test shows that Ryzen 7 1700X (1537) is way better than Intel's Core i7-6800K (1108). The Ryzen 7 1700X costs only $399 compared to Intel's Core i7-6800K which costs $409.

Ryzen 7 1700 is the only CPU in the Ryzen 7 series that comes with the new Wraith Spire cooler. This CPU performs with a base clock of 3.0GHz and a boost clock of 3.7GHz. This chip has a 65W TDP. Cinebench R15 multi-threading benchmark test puts Ryzen 7 1700 (1410) ahead of Intel's Core i7-7700K (967). The Ryzen 7 1700 costs $329 compared to Intel's Core i7-7700K which costs $339.
